Topic: Lag/Freeze at Start of Some Tracks – All Optimizations Already Applied
Hi everyone,

I’ve been experiencing a consistent issue in VirtualDJ where there's a brief freeze or stutter at the **very beginning of some tracks** — almost like a momentary CPU spike or buffer hiccup.

Here’s my system setup:

* Intel Core Ultra 7 155H (3.8 GHz)
* 32 GB RAM (5600 MHz)
* NVIDIA RTX 4060
* Running latest version of VirtualDJ
* Using Pioneer DDJ-400 with official ASIO drivers

What I’ve already tried (and double-checked):

**Windows optimizations:**

1. Power plan set to **High Performance / Maximum Performance**
2. All **visual effects disabled** (System > Advanced Settings > Best performance)
3. **Xbox Game Bar and Game Mode turned off**
4. All unnecessary **background apps and overlays disabled** (OneDrive, Discord, NVIDIA overlay, etc.)

**NVIDIA Control Panel:**
5\. Set to use **RTX 4060** as preferred GPU
6\. **Power Management Mode:** Prefer maximum performance
7\. **V-Sync off**, max frame rate disabled

**VirtualDJ settings:**
8\. Using **Pioneer ASIO drivers**
9\. Increased **buffer size**, enabled **Safe Mode**
10\. Disabled **video engine** (or used GPU acceleration when video is on)
11\. Disabled **Stem separation**
12\. Tested with both **MP3 and WAV** files, reanalyzed all tracks
13\. Tried increasing **earlyLoad** and **preload length** values

Despite all of this, **some tracks still freeze briefly at the start** — not all, but enough to be noticeable and annoying during live sets.

Has anyone else run into this with a similar setup? Could this be a bug or an issue with how certain files are preloaded?

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
